FLOOD STUDIO emerged in 2000 as a collaborative model to bring disparate creatives working independently together on commercial and non-commercial projects.
Since then it has functioned as an umbrella for a wide range of socially interactive work ranging from edible installations to a working cafe, a social club wrapped around a maker space and even a walk-by poetry/object installation during the pandemic.
The studio continues to develop work that considers the impact, range and limits of social and cultural ritual. Patterns and habits around social interactions serve as both content and aesthetic.
Currently the studio’s home is at 630 Treat Ave, a stunning 1920s warehouse in the mission that provides an ideal environment for new work, new collaborations, new conversations.
